Ms Carol Musei – Franchise and Buying Manager

Carol joined Deacons as a management trainee in 1995. She was appointed Assistant Buying Manager in 1999 and Buying & Marketing Manager in 2001. Currently she holds the position of Franchise and Buying Manager.

She has had extensive training in retail and enjoys over 14 years experience. In 2007 she was awarded “Best Brand Ambassador” by Woolworths South Africa and in 2008 was cited as one of the “Highest Ranking Women in Business- Kenya, in a UNDP Survey that was done in conjunction with the Ministry of Trade.
Caroline Musei is a graduate of the University of Nairobi and holds (B.A, Hons; Sociology) and (MBA) Strategic Management Major

She is involved in a lot of Social responsibility endeavors in education for orphans and empowerment of women.

Mr. Simon Mundu - Strategic & Special Programs Manager /Ag. Finance Manager

Simon joined Deacons in January 2007 as the Strategy and Special projects Manager as the company implemented a new strategic vision and a performance management tool.In June of 2009 he took over the position of Finance Manager of the group.
Simon is a Bachelor of Commerce graduate from the University of Nairobi. He is a qualified accountant-CPA (K) and a member of the Institute of Certified Public Accountants of Kenya. He also has an M.B.A degree from the same University. He joined Deacons in January 2007.

Prior to joining Deacons, Simon worked for GlaxoSmithKline and Haco Industries.

 

 

Mr. Moses Olilo - Operations & Supply Chain Manager

Moses heads the busy logistics, store rollout project management ,store operations and warehousing departments of the Deacons group.. He is a graduate of Egerton University (Bsc Hons, Clothing & Textiles) and University of Nairobi (MBA). He also has a Graduate diploma in CIPS. He joined Deacons in September 2001 as a management trainee, having worked with a renowned retail outfit specializing in tourist artifacts. He has undertaken extensive retail training in various foreign franchise operations.

 

 

Mrs Olive Gathinji - Marketing & Communications Manager

Olive joined Deacons as Marketing & Communications Manager in January 2007 and setup the department. She has a wealth of experience in Brand Management, having begun her Sales and Marketing Career in 1999 at Kenya Wine Agencies as a Key Accounts Manager and rose to a New Products Development Leader in the year 2003. She moved to Colgate Palmolive as an Assistant Brand Manager in the year 2006 after a stint in Consumer Insight as a Research Manager – Branded Research.
Olive is a graduate of the United States International University (BSc. International Business Administration, Marketing option) and has a diploma in marketing (CIM-UK). She is currently persuing an MBA at Swiss Management Academy.

 

 

Ms Judith Masinde - Human Resource Manager

Judith is a graduate of the University of Nairobi in Commerce and Master of Business Administration. She has been in Human Resource Management since the start of her career in 1989 and has worked in Public, NGO and International organisations in Kenya.

 

 

Mr. Ismael Omol - Information and Communication Technology Manager

Ismael joined Deacons in May, 2009 as ICT Manager to head and implement a new and dynamic strategy that would fully automate Deacons processes. His responsibilities include the creation of a fully functionally ICT department to support the company’s growth strategy.
. Prior to this he was based in South Africa working as a Product Specialist for ID Technologies and pursuing a Bsc degree in Information Technology Management at the University of South Africa. During the period, Mr. Omol also implemented systems for Woolworths Africa franchisees, Truworths Africa franchisees, Accessorize, La Senza, Toy Zone and Baby City South Africa.
